The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, also known as ECTS credit system, is a system to measure learning so that you can easily show what you’ve learned and what your skills are. The credit value is established according to student workload and learning outcomes. In other words, credits reflect the amount of work you’ve done in order to learn the contents and achieve the goals of your study programme. 1 ECTS credit generally equals 25 to 30 hours of work. So, for example, if you’ve taken a course that has 6 ECTS credits, it means that you’ve worked from 150 to 180 hours to complete that course. Thanks to this numerical references, it’s easier for students to show what they already know when applying to study abroad programme or another degree at a different institution, or when applying for a job.

ECTS credits allows to, on the one hand, accumulate credits to obtain qualifications and to document learning, which will be key when applying for jobs in your future; on the other hand, thanks to ECTS credits, students can transfer or continue their education at a different institution thanks to credit recognition and transfer. Remember that the ECTS system is recognised in all European countries and, more and more, by other countries outside of Europe. By looking at an academic transcripts and the credits earned, companies and schools will be able to learn what students know and what their skills and competencies are.

A program accreditation enables the adoption of international standards relevant to a specific degree that enables a student to transfer credits between institutions.

Internships are a great way to put knowledge into practice. EABHES Accreditation recognises credits for internships and placements. Please refer to the Course Catalogue of the study programme to check whether the study plan includes an internship. If it doesn’t, but interested in doing one, students can enquire their school about the possibility of conducting an internship and add extra-curricular credits to their records.

Thanks to the ECTS credit system, students can study abroad in Europe and in other countries, and then transfer credits at their home institution. Ask your school about exchange programmes they have with other EABHES members or other partner schools for you to study abroad

The language requirements are a B2 level of English for Bachelor’s level programme and a C1 level for Master’s level programme. In order to prove the level of English students will need to present official English test certification, such as TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS,

If the course is included in the Study Programme and the Course Catalogue, student will get credits for it. If the online course is not included in the study programme, please ask the school about credit recognition, as it is the school’s decision to determine what type of courses and training can grant students extracurricular credits.

Students will be able to continue their education in any EABHES member school. Also, the ECTS credits earned during the programme are recognised in most schools in Europe and North America. The Transcripts of Records and Diploma shows the ECTS credits earned during a study programme.
